You’ve Been Sitting Too Long

Psalm 37:23

One thing I’ve learned about my body is that when I sit for too long without getting up and moving, it becomes harder and sometimes more painful to move when I finally do.

And that got me thinking about life.

Sometimes we sit too long on the very things God has placed in our hearts - The vision. The business. The assignment. The dream. The next step.

We keep putting it off, waiting for the right time, the right resources, or the right opportunity. And before we know it, so much time has passed that getting started feels harder than it would have before.

We begin questioning whether we’ve missed our window. Whether we’re still capable. Whether it’s even worth trying.

But here’s the thing: just because it’s harder to move doesn’t mean you shouldn’t move! Read that again!

Rest is necessary, but stagnation is not the same as rest.

Maybe you can’t do everything today, but you can do something.

Make the call.

Write the plan.

Take the step.

Revisit the vision.

Don’t allow the discomfort of getting started to keep you from moving forward. And don’t let the time you’ve spent sitting convince you that your time has passed.

Get up. Start where you are. And trust God with the steps ahead.

Psalm 37:23 - The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
