Don't Go Back Just Because It Came Back

September 25, 2026
Philippians 1:6 This morning, after almost two weeks, something I had been accustomed to receiving showed up again. I was excited. I received it. I appreciated it. But I also realized something…
Its return doesn’t require my retreat.
Sometimes something stops, changes, or gets removed, and in its absence, we discover something in ourselves that may have never surfaced otherwise. Then it comes back.
And the temptation can be to return to who we were before it left.
But what if the interruption was part of your development?
You can appreciate what returned without abandoning what grew in its absence.
Let the work work.
Keep growing. Keep building. Keep becoming the receipt—the evidence that what God started in you is still being developed. Maybe what you started when that thing stopped was in you all along.
Don’t go backwards just because something familiar came back.
Philippians 1:6 - He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
