You Have Access - Use It

September 24, 2026 James 1:22 I was looking at the apps on my phone this morning. Some are necessary for the phone to function. Others are there because I chose them—they give me quick access to something I need or want.

But here’s what hit me: having the app doesn’t mean I’m using it. And even when I do use it, what I get from it often depends on how I engage with it.

That made me think about our relationship with God. We have access to His Word. Access to prayer. Access to wisdom. Access to His presence. But access without engagement doesn’t produce much.

We can have the Bible app and never open it. Know how to pray but rarely do it. Hear the Word and never apply it.

Maybe the question today isn’t, “What do I need?”

Maybe it’s, “What has God already given me access to that I’m not fully using?”

Don’t just have access. Engage. Apply. Use what’s available to you.

James 1:22 - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
