Tighten Up Your Stewardship

September 21, 2026 1 Corinthians 4:2 This morning I woke up with one word heavy on me: stewardship.
Sometimes we can become too casual with things that require our attention. Not because we don’t care, but because we’ve gotten comfortable. And comfortable can quietly turn into careless.
The question I had to ask myself this morning was: What have I been too loose with that I need to keep a closer watch over?
Everything entrusted to us deserves proper stewardship—our relationships, responsibilities, opportunities, resources, gifts, and even our time. Some areas we get it, and others we just handle all willy-nilly unintentionally.
This isn’t about becoming anxious or trying to control everything. It’s about becoming more attentive. It’s about becoming more intentional with the things that get our attention.
Pay attention to what you’ve been entrusted with.
Tighten up where you’ve gotten loose.
Be intentional where you’ve become casual.
Sometimes the warning isn’t that you’ve lost something. It’s the opportunity to tighten up before you do.
1 Corinthians 4:2 - Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
