The Strength to Serve

Colossians 3:23
Last night, I had the opportunity to pour into others during a women’s intensive. But before it was my time to share, I found myself serving in other ways. Helping behind the scenes, managing technology, and simply making sure things flowed smoothly.
And I was reminded of something:
I may be a strong and capable leader, but I’m also a strong and capable follower.
Somewhere along the way, we’ve made leadership more about being in charge than being willing to serve.
But true leadership requires humility. It requires honor. It requires knowing when to lead, when to follow, and when to simply lend a hand.
Your title doesn’t make you too important to serve. Your gifts don’t exempt you from supporting others. And your ability to lead doesn’t mean you always have to be the one in front.
Whether in marriage, ministry, relationships, or the workplace, how you serve speaks just as loudly as how you lead.
So give honor where honor is due. Serve with excellence. Support without needing recognition. And remember WHO you’re ultimately serving.
You don’t lose your strength when you humble yourself to serve. You demonstrate it.
Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
